ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Lea Starita, PhD, Associate Professor of Genome Sciences; Univcersity of Washington

Dr. Starita is an Associate Professor in the Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington and the Co-director of Brotman Baty Advanced Technology Lab. The BAT-Lab allows researchers at UW and beyond to access cutting edge genomic technologies, find support for ambitious projects and we power the Seattle Flu Alliance. She earned her Ph.D. from Harvard Medical School before coming to the University of Washington to train in functional genomics with Stan Fields and Jay Shendure.

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University is proud to host a distinguished lecture series on the latest developments and research in Biomedical Engineering. The series takes place on Thursday afternoons at 1:00 PM Eastern and includes a variety of renowned academics from top universities to talk about their specific research and experience.
